Cost- and energy-efficient high selective coating for aluminum solar absorber

What we offer

The German company ODB-Tec offers a high selective coating for solar collectors allowing to coat even textured surfaces such as cushions absorbers/ roll bonds. The coating achieves competitive absorption and reflection values. It is applied galvanically and consists of a nano-composite of oxide and metal particles (cermet).

The coating is not limited to coils, single plates can be coated. It is applicable for solar collectors, especially for the low price segment.

High selective coating for absorber tubes of CSP collectors

What we offer

Absorber tubes of CSP collectors of solar thermal power plants (CSP) require a high selective coating to improve the efficiency of heat transfer. ODB-Tec has developed a very robust, durable and thermally stable high selective coating, which is very inexpensive to produce on tube surfaces. Galvanically and purely inorganic the surface of the steel tubes is provided with a high selective layer, which makes of a steel tube a "low-cost high-efficiency absorber tube”.

The main advantages are:
- Excellent absorption and emission values (absorption α > 92%, emission ε ≤ 5% at 100°C)
- Long-term stable performance
- Low cost coating
- Coating with humidity, corrosion and abrasion resistance
- Temperatures above 520°C possible
- Coating plant dynamically extensible

Nanostructured hydrogen-catalyst

What we offer

Since mixtures of hydrogen and air are highly explosive, even at very low hydrogen concentrations, the emission of hydrogen has to be avoided to prevent dangerous situations. This applies to many process and waste gases in industrial environments.

ODB-Tec has developed a low cost catalyst that starts at room temperature and can convert very low concentrations of hydrogen. The catalyst based on a stable and robust titanium substrate lattice with a ceramic coating and a nanosized precious metal film. The highly porous ceramic layer, with its very large surface area allows the use of relatively small amounts of noble metals.

Insulating glass solar collector

What we offer

Conventional flat collectors are expensive to produce and limited in their flexibility.
The insulating glass solar collector developed by ODB-Tec, consists of a high selective coated aluminium roll-bond embedded in an insulating glass.
This solar collector can be produced inexpensively (approximately 80 Euro/m²) and yet its effective absorber surface is larger than flat collectors (Absorption > 90% and emission ≤ 10% at 100°C). This construction with the lower collector thickness and a low weight leads to simpler handling and flexible installation.
Thus, the ODB-Tec insulating glass solar collector can be integrated for example into building facades. Also the Color design of the collector is variable.

Low-e coating for coloured aluminium profiles

What we offer

For surfaces of buildings in the sunny regions of the world, a low-e coating for example is essential to minimize the heat radiation of the heated and irradiated aluminum profiles of those constructions. A cost-effective, energy efficient and weather-resistant exterior coating for aluminum profiles and sheets, which can be simultaneously produced in various colors, is not yet available on the market. With the low-e coating of ODB-Tec, thermal emissions of less than 0.2, albedos lower than 0.25 as well as various shades are adjustable. The currently on the market available coating- and production methods are not designed for the upgrade processing of aluminum profiles.
