EU Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) programme

The EU Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) is a new tool to help innovative environmental technologies reach the market.

Claims about the performance of innovative environmental technologies can be verified by qualified third parties called "Verification Bodies". The "Statement of Verification" delivered at the end of the ETV process can be used as evidence that the claims made about the innovation are both credible and scientifically sound. With proof of performance credibly assured, innovations can expect an easier market access and/or a larger market share and the technological risk is reduced for technology purchasers.

EU Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Programme

What we offer

The EU-ETV Pilot Programme, operating as one of the initiatives under the Eco-Innovation Action Plan of the European Commission, set out to establish the foundations for a true European-level tool supporting and promoting eco-innovation, mainly in highly dynamic and innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The programme is targeted at environmental technologies whose value cannot be proved through existent standards or certification schemes and whose claims could benefit from a credible verification procedure as a guarantee to investors. In a first stage the Pilot Programme is currently running in specific Technology Areas which could then be expanded in the future as the Programme becomes further implemented.

What we are looking for

Companies interested in having their innovative environmental technologies verified within the EU-ETV scheme.
They wil profit from an EU-wide recognised verification statement aimed at facilitating their market acces.
Potential Verification Bodies are also welcome.
