The IPH - Institut fuer Integrierte Produktion Hannover gGmbH is a company providing research and development, consulting, and training in production engineering. Led by our three managing partners - Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd-Arno Behrens, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Peter Nyhuis, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Overmeyer - we continuously strive to advance and realise innovative ideas in the fields of process technology, production automation, and logistics.

Through investigating and improving production, we link the science of production engineering to the manufacturing industry. The solutions we come up with are the result of interdisciplinary team work. Mechanical engineers work along with industrial engineers, business data processing specialists, technical economists, and technicians. Remote-Controlled Gripping System helps Assemble Rotor Blades

What we offer

A new remote-controlled assembly aid makes it much easier to fix rotor blades to off-shore wind turbines. The gripping system was developed by Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH). A fully functional model on a scale of 1:5 is shown at Hannover Messe.
Usually, the rotor blades of wind turbines are lifted by a crane. It carries the blade to the nacelle, where it has to target the hub exactly. This is difficult as too much wind causes the crane to swing. The gripper, in contrast, holds the rotor blade in position even in heavy weather. The “Wind Lift Tower“ by Berg-idl GmbH lifts both gripper and rotor blade to the top of the wind turbine. The gripper is remote-controlled and can be tilted by 15 degrees in order to assemble the rotor blade.

What we offer

We specialize in resource-efficient processes in the field of forming technology. Our area of expertise includes technologies such as flashless or flash-reduced forging, cross wedge rolling, hydroforming and hybrid forging. We consider different materials In the field of forming technology, such as steel, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium and Inconel. We have more than 20 years of experience in the flashless forging sector, primarily with complex component geometries.
