MBM ScienceBridge GmbH is a technology transfer organization wholly owned by Georg-August University Göttingen Germany.
Our goal is to evaluate, protect and actively commercialize intellectual property. As a service provider in the area of technology transfer we market innovations and intellectual property from nine different universities and research institutions in the state of Lower Saxony, Germany.

New methods for deep-drawing/Neue Methoden zum Tiefziehen

What we offer

Die neuartigen Methoden sind Tiefziehverfahren mittels formlos-fester Wirkmedien, auch Dynamic Particle Forming (DPF) genannt. Hier übernehmen z.B. kleine Stahl- und verformbare Kunststoffkugeln den Part des Ziehstempels. Dadurch wird nur eine formgebundene Werkzeughälfte benötigt. Die zweite Hälfte ist aufgrund des formlos-fester Wirkmediums in der Lage, sich jeder Matritzenform anzupassen und so die Blechzuschnitte in die gewünschte Form zu bringen.
Bei einer Weiterentwicklung erfolgt die Formgebung mit einem formlos-festen & fließfähigen Wirkmedium (nicht-newtonsches, plastisch verformbares Material). Dies ist besonders für Kunststoffe vorteilhaft.

Green Technology: Carbonic anhydrase enzyme for CO2 fixation.

What we offer

New isolated, cloned and characterized member of the alfa-class of carbonic anhydrase (CA) from a marine 'living fossil' showing a high resistance to high salinity, direct involvement in calcification process (CO2 fixation). CO2 is the most abundant greenhouse gas, its elimination crucial to slow down global warming. Nature already found a solution as CA enables cells to fix carbon, regulate pH and process ion transport or waste.

HALLMARKS:
- Resistance to high salinity
- Active even at low temperature and high temperature!
- Low sequence homology to existing CA (39% to human CA-II)

USES:
- CO2 elimination/fixation from exhausts or effluents
- Elimination of toxic carbon disulphide
- Synthesis of silicon dioxide
- Biosensors e.g. determination of pH or zinc

Green Technology: New Bioparticle Analyzer for airborne microorganism

What we offer

Airborne microorganism like bacteria or spores can be found outdoors as well as indoors and are mostly clump together into large aggregates. If concentrations are too high they pose a healthy risk such as allergies or infections. Today's particle counters can only give a rough estimation of biological materials as they fail to detect microorganism in large aggregates. The new Bioparticle Analyzer combines efficient collection via impaction with an automated and fast detection and analyzing system using fluorescent label technology.

- High sampling efficiency for microorganism due to impaction on special silicones.
- Automatic detection and analysis of living organism using specific fluorescence markers.

Novel technology to predict iron clogging and corrosion in water and hydraulic systems

What we offer

Corrosion and iron clogging (rust and ochreous deposits) are commonly known problems, particularly in hydraulic systems such as heating or cooling systems, wells and piping but also for water disinfection. These phenomena are potentially causing great damage to the system if they are not taken seriously or have negative impact on system performance. Scientists at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg developed a novel method to predict iron clogging in water and hydraulic systems.

HALLMARKS:
* Predictive sensor technology for corrosion (electrochemical and microbial corrosion) and iron clogging (ochre and rust deposition) in the whole system.
* Robust sensor technology and high range sensitivity.
* Predictive Maintenance due to simple and continuous measurement of critical water parameters.
* Better maintenance planning of the cleaning regime or use of anti-corrosion agents.
* Less costs: no need for a costly revision due to unforeseen failure.
