ICT, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence

The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) with facilities in Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken, Bremen and Berlin is the largest research center in the field of artificial intelligence worldwide. In over 170 projects, more than 400 scientists work on innovative, application oriented ICT solutions.

The Robotics Innovation Center (RIC) in Bremen develops robotic systems for various application areas, including robots for subsea and space exploration, robots for security and search & rescue tasks, and systems for flexible production and intelligent logistics, including autonomous vehicles in electromobility and agriculture.

In the framework of direct industrial orders or publicly funded joint projects, the RIC designs, builds and validates cognitively adequate robots as well as entire complex, integrated systems, enabling a rapid transfer of results of basic research to practical applications.

New Mobility

What we offer

DFKI is a lead partner in the "Modellregion Elektromobilität Bremen-Oldenburg". Over the last years, we built up a fleet of electric vehicles and gathered a large amount of EV-related data in long-term fleet tests.
With EO smart connecting car, DFKI developed an innovative electric vehicle demonstrator to test and verify new technological solutions related to mobility in general and electric mobility in particular. Combined with our expertise in robotics, we use this knowledge to work on new technical concepts in support of urban and rural mobility and smart cities.
